ALPS Outdoor Z Talon Holster

ALPS OutdoorZ has just unveiled the new Talon holster, an ambidextrous handgun holster meant to secure onto backpacks and daypacks of campers, hikers, hunters and anyone else who spends extended amounts of times in the backcountry and need to keep a pistol close at hand.

The Talon holster is sized to universally fit a wide number of semi-auto handguns and revolvers, and can easily be mounted to MOLLE or other types of webbing commonly found on bags and packs. Moreover, its mounting system which consists of a clinching magnetized strap also allows users to affix the holster to the hip straps or sternum straps on their field packs for easier access to their firearm on the trail. The Talon holster’s quick release magnetized strap is designed to do-away with the traditional hook and loop system found on many universal field holsters or other types of outdoor gear, as it can tend to be somewhat unreliable in specialized applications.

ALPS OutdoorZ Talon Holster Features:

  • Universal, ambidextrous holster accommodates a variety of sidearms
  • Can be mounted several different ways with included polymer clip
  • Polymer MOLLE clip compatible with MOLLE up to 4.25 inches wide
  • Clip size is 4.75 inches long x 1 inch wide x .25 inch high
  • Magnetic clasp system can be custom positioned to fit your sidearm and positioned for quick-release carry
  • Hypalon reinforced mounting area
  • Added pass-through for more secure side carrying on a bino harness or chest pack
  • Maximum length inside of holder: 6 inches from the front of grip to end of barrel
  • Maximum sidearm height: 4 inches to the bottom of trigger guard to top of barrel
  • Pairs well with all bino harnesses and pack waist belts

The ALPS OutdoorZ Talon holster weighs only five ounces, and measures 7x5x1.5 inches and can fit most full-size handguns or revolvers. The ALPS OutdoorZ Talon holster is currently available in two colors, Coyote Brown or Stone Gray and has a starting retail price of $49.95. Visit alpsoutdoorz.com for more information.
