Bear Creek Arsenal has just launched a metal framed, striker-fired 9mm pistol, the new GENES1S II. The GENES1S II is a refinement of Bear Creek Arsenal’s original GENES1S handgun and has features based on feedback from users of the earlier model. The newest model has all the contemporary attributes one would expect to find on a modern duty size pistol, such as a Picatinny accessory rail, a threaded barrel and an optics-ready slide right from the factory. The slide cut on the GENES1S II uses the popular Trijicon RMR footprint. Not only does this footprint work with all of Trijicon’s mounted optics, but it also fits a wide selection of optics from other manufacturers. The action of the GENES1S II is based on a proven striker-fired, delayed-blowback, tilting mechanism system that has been on the market since the 1980s. Unlike most striker fired pistols, the GENES1S II does not use a polymer frame, which makes it stiffer and prone to flex less during recoil. In addition to this, the pistol is able to accept Glock pattern 9mm magazines and Glock dovetailed front and rear sights.
