Beretta USA is now selling the new PMXs large format pistol. The PMXs pistol is based on the Beretta PMX platform in use by a number of militaries and law enforcement agencies around the globe. The Beretta PMX was originally developed to adhere to stringent NATO testing standards and specifications, including the ability to handle the more potent 9mm round in use by NATO, which compared to standard SAAMI spec 9mm ammunition is much hotter and operates at higher pressures.

The Beretta PMXs is a modern large-format pistol with a magazine inserted in front of the grip and trigger group. The pistol is chambered for 9mm and works off the direct blowback operating principle. The Beretta PMXs also uses modern polymer construction with the appropriate reinforcements in order to be lighter but remain sturdy. The PMXs features fully ambidextrous controls and plenty of NATO-spec Picatinny rail surfaces, including a full-length section at 12 o’clock. It uses a cold hammer-forged 6.9 inch long barrel, the end of which is cut for the industry standard ½x28 tpi pattern.

“Beretta USA is excited to introduce the PMXs to the US market finally,” said Nicola Lorenzi, Beretta Pistol Product Manager. “The PMXs represents the evolution of the legendary Beretta PM12 SMG widely adopted by military and law enforcement agencies around the world–and was one of the guns used by the US Marine Corps to guard the American Embassy during the Tet Offensive in Vietnam. The PMXs inherits the reliability and durability of the Beretta SMG platforms, being one of the few such platforms to be NATO Certified.”

The PMXs starting retail price is $1,499 and the pistol comes with two 30-round magazines. Please visit beretta.com for more information on this pistol or other products from Beretta.
