SHOT Show 2020 Video: Mossberg MC2c Pistol

Now, I'll admit that I've had more than just a little experience with Mossberg's new MC2c. I happened to be fortunate enough to be one of the writers and editors present at the Gunsite Academy launch of the MC2c, so I've had a pretty good amount of time behind the trigger on this neat little pistol—I left my initial impressions in my review posted a little over a week ago. In a nutshell, the MC2c keeps all of the great things that made the MC1sc our Golden Bullseye Handgun of the Year—fantastic trigger, excellent ergonomics and simple operation. The MC2c just, well, makes everything bigger.

While it's easy to dismiss the line of pistols as just another striker-fired, polymer-framed 9 mm, the larger story is the willingness of Mossberg to break into a new market. Yes, the company has offered pistols previously—the Brownie .22 LR in the early part of the 20th century and, as many pointed out, the 715P in more recent times. But, the MC1sc—and now the MC2c—represent a completely new arena in which Mossberg can compete. The company is up against industry giants, and it knows it, but not only is Mossberg up to the challenge, the company is expanding its offerings in that marketspace. That's a bold move, and we can certainly use more bold moves in the industry today.

But, I digress. Check out the MC2c in action, visit Mossberg for more information on this pistol, and stay tuned to Shooting Illustrated for continued SHOT Show 2020 coverage.
